Hawzah News Agency- In a speech, Baghdad Friday Prayer Imam Ayatollah Sayyed Yassin Mousavi referred to recent incidents in the Alawite areas of Syria and called the attacks by the Golani group criminal. He emphasized that these attacks mainly targeted innocent civilians, especially in Shiite and Alawite areas.

Stating that these attacks did not include other areas such as the Kurdish areas, he stated,” The reason for not attacking these areas is the inability of the Golani group to carry out such attacks.”

The Friday prayer leader of Baghdad further pointed to the role of foreign governments, especially the United States and Israel, in destroying and weakening Syria, adding, “The former Syrian regime, despite differences of opinion about it, had the power to confront Israel’s invasions.”

He added, “The destruction of Syrian army and the weakening of its government are the result of foreign conspiracies aimed at dividing Syria.”

At the end of his speech, Ayatollah Mousavi also pointed out the importance of maintaining weapons as a means of defending dignity and sovereignty of a nation, saying, “The only force that can protect the people is the power of weapons.”

He called on Iraqi politicians not to surrender to international pressure aimed at disarming the Popular Mobilization Forces, adding, “The Popular Mobilization Forces have now become a force capable of defending Iraq’s security and thwarting the conspiracies of the enemies.”

He also warned that surrender of weapons will be the beginning of the loss of dignity and exposing the people to captivity and massacre.
